Welcome, National Center of Fibre Arts!

On May 10, 2024 we welcomed 18 members of the Textile Center in Minneapolis – the National Center for Fiber Arts. At our Textile Center, they received an introduction to the institution and TextileLab, Icelandic textile history, along with knitting and embroidery classes taught by our handcraft experts, Jóhanna and Svana.

During their visit to Iceland, the group also explored other notable textile sites, including Guðrún Bjarnadóttir's natural dye studio, local sheep farms, a tannery, and the Ístex wool washing facilities.
