Textile Center Annual Meeting 31.3.

Following the formal agenda of the annual meeting, board members and representatives from regional municipalities, educational institutions, and industry were invited to participate in the workshop “Spjörum okkur" in the Blönduós community center. 

Participants worked together to develop creative solutions to the growing challenge of textile waste. Applying the Design Thinking method, they collaborated in focused groups exploring four key areas: Education, Recycling, Waste Collection, and Business Models. The Education and Recycling groups, in particular, emphasized the relevance of traditional craft knowledge in addressing the issue.

The insights gathered during the workshop will be compiled by the Association of Municipalities in Northwest Iceland (SSNV) to inform and inspire future initiatives and projects.
