Study visit Iceland University of the Arts

September 20. - 24. 2021 we hosted a group of 3d year fashion design students from the Iceland University of the Arts who came to Blönduós for a week-long study visit.

The Textile Center's expert weaver Ragnheiður B. Þórsdóttir taught them how to weave using traditional and digital looms; designers Sólveig Hansdóttir and Berglind Hlýnsdóttir introduced their research project Þráðhyggja ("Thread Obsession" - see video here) and the digital equipment they worked with at the TextileLab.

Students were invited to work on their final projects in collaboration with the Textile Center.
